Today (Tuesday) we traveled from the mountain town of Wayanod back to the Thomas' home via an interesting route. After looking at the map my husband commented on how close we were to the Arbian Sea. Santhosh decided to take the scenic route. They had never traveled the road that runs near the ocean. There are no road signs and the roads were very narrow and rough. Every time they needed directions the driver would pull over and ask an auto rick-shaw driver. It turned out that a large part of the road was closed and we had to take a detour. What a fun trip. The drive is normally 6-8 hours, but we made it in about 10 today! It was worth all the driving to see the church building and the believers we have the wonderful privilege of supporting through Mathew and the George's.

We spent Monday Driving 8 hours to a church in Wyanod. There were 2 churches that came together for our meeting. The ride up the mountain was breathtaking. We got stopped because a truck carrying marble got stuck in one of 9 hairpin curves when his axel broke. It added 2 hours to an 8 hour drive. :) We had an wonderful time with these mountain people. They were wonderful and the building was packed.

Hello Dear Highlands Family,
We had a wonderful Sunday. Jeff had the privilege of preaching the very first Sunday in the new building. The testimonies of the believers were sweet - even though we couldn't understand their language. You could sense the gratitude they were expressing in their voices. The service lasted until 1:15.

Hello Dear Highlands Family,
The Gospel Campaign - Thursday through tonight (Saturday) - has been a blessing. Jeff spoke last night, a very powerful message on the rich man and Lazarus. The thought provoking question was, "which would you rather be?" It was very quiet. Two raised their hands that they were saved. We felt that God was really working. Yesterday we went sight seeing and shopping. Oh my, it is hot. We enjoyed the time of fellowship. They took us to a lovely restaurant, though we joked about the name, "Abad", telling their son that we ate at a bad restaurant.

We had the blessed privilege of taking part in the dedication of the new church building, Emmanuel Baptist Church in Valamboor. I got to cut the ribbon and invite "the people into the church." I preached a dedication message. Santhosh George was my translator. We had a great time. The more excited I got, the more excited he got, and the more excited he got, the more excited I got! There were over 20 preachers in the crowd, (preachers love good preaching especially when it is followed by free food!) and there were a few ameners' in the crowd. It was a great service and everyone was excited about the new church. It is one of the nicest I have seen. The Lord miraculously provided the property at a great price due to the fact that even the Hindus were afraid to buy it because there had been some kind of Satan worship on the site.
